Do you have a favourite bible verse? Maybe a long term favourite or something that speaks to you today. If so let a Steward know and we'll share it here.
"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death - even death on a cross. Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
Philippians Chapter 2 verses 5-11
Phil finds these verses very inspiring, the best part of the most inspiring letter!
"The fear of the lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and knowledge of the holy One is understanding."
Proverbs Chapter 9 verse 10.
Phil likes this verse because it's a summary of the whole Bible and Faith too - written by the wisest man ever, Solomon.
Trust in the Lord at all times. He will never forsake you.
This is Millie's favourite bible verse, her Grandma gave her her first bible in 1941 and wrote this on the first page.
My favourite bible verse . . . .
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of
those who love him, who have been called according to his
purpose." Romans 8:28
This was given to Pru in 2005 and she likes it because it
says all things work together for good, not all things are
good but God can use them in his service.
Dennis' favourite is John 3 verses 16-17, it was these 2 verses that brought him to the Lord 60 years ago.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."
My favourite bible verse from Jill . . . .
"Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ and a brother of James"
Jude 1.
Jill likes this because it probably suggests that Jude was quite complicated – too humble to refer to himself as Jude, the Lord’s brother, but not too humble to refer to himself as the brother of the Bishop of Jerusalem.
